'SCARS' - IN DEVELOPMENT

A PIONEERING AUDIENCE INTERACTIVE SERIAL FOR MOBILE AND WEB TELEVISION

Imagine a daily soap opera - each episode 10 minutes in length - which the world can watch on their phones every morning whilst travelling to work. Not only watch but physically interact with - submitting storyline ideas and potentially even starring in the show.

This is the concept of SCARS: a sexy comedy drama serial based on the lives of a group of students studying at University.

Whilst studying, the characters are forced to confront their authentic selves, learning to accept and love who they truly are.

Every year Britain's students leave home - for possibly the first time ever - to live with complete strangers in their university's halls of residence. And away from home they begin to learn about themselves, confronting the many conflicts that exist within themselves. This is the concept for this exciting comedy drama series, the young characters being thrown together as if by fate, coming to terms with the emotional scars that haunt them from their pasts.

Based at Trentfield University - a fictitious North London university campus - the series will focus on all age groups and demographics, characters being: the students - both local and international; mature students; their lecturers; and visiting friends and relatives.

Dramatizing the lifestyle of university students, we'll see: romances and friendships being made and broken; aspects of the courses the cast attend; the legendary university social life; whilst discovering the many sad and traumatic secrets that haunt the characters.

This high concept production is designed for the 14 to 35 year old viewing audience

‘SCARS’ will pioneer a ‘living media’ brand experience, engaging the audience by actively encouraging them to suggest plots and characters for the show, and providing drama workshops and online acting auditions for them to join the cast.

Discovering yourself while at uni is an archetypal experience. Everyone has their own story, and by actively inviting story submissions from the millions of past and present students will provide access to a rich stream of original story ideas, as well as securing the audiences commitment to and promotion of the show.

All casting and story submissions will be free of charge, but a paid for online membership area will provide video training material for audience members serious about a career in these fields.

Extraneous content developing the characters will exist online – via Facebook and Twitter pages, etc – enhancing the audience’s understanding of the characters. Internet based storylines featured in the show will exist online operating in sync with the shows broadcast content.

‘SCARS’ will be filmed in North London at various real life university locations, giving the production a genuine verisimilitude.

It is designed for the 14 to 35 year old mobile and Web TV savvy audience.
